The word Vitta (Latin) means "conducting vessel". The fruits of some plants have vittas, which function as channels through which substances flow. That’s what we do at the Vittatus Foundation: communicate, unite, lead, and make that well-being reaches communities..
Additionally, Leporellus vittatus (Valenciennes, 1850), commonly known as corunta, cob, curula, is a species of native freshwater fish corresponding to the order Characiformes, family Anostomidae, abundant in warm and temperate rivers of South America..
We adopt the name Vittatus Foundation in recognition of the biodiversity and richness of our rivers, an inexhaustible source of life and sustenance for millions of people..
Our logo represents the confluence of spaces where we develop our projects. The planet, with its blue and green colors; water and earth, the life-giving elements. A tree grows in the middle, represented on its trunk by the two founding members and its branches, those communities participating in our projects. In the center, a boat, a symbol of fishing, patience, and hard work, while an oval shape emerges from it that represents a fish or the fruits of the tree; that means, food as a fundamental principle of sustainability.
